“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! ” (Ephesians 3:20)

I never wrote anything about the Sunday service since birth but since I & my sister went for the first time at TheFeast on PICC last Sunday (Dec 2), the homily and the talk of Bro. Bo Sanchez was an amazing combo for a day that I have to blog about it.

It wasn’t my intention at first that I will blog about this so I kinda forget a little of what the priest’s sermon. I started taking down notes in the middle of Bro. Bo’s talk. Here is the summary:

Mass:

  • There are too many good things on earth, some people worship them. (Worship = too much love)
  • The song Ngayon at Kailanman (Basil Valdez) got it right:

Bakit labis kitang mahal – Why do I love you so much
Pangalawa sa Maykapal – That you placed 2nd to God
Higit sa ‘king buhay – More than my life

The feast:

  • When you pray, don’t just ask. Receive.
“I want to receive the best from you”
  • Learn to dream. Before, the government (Spaniards) tells us that we should stay put on whatever status we were. If the Filipinos didn’t dream, maybe we’re still discriminated. The poorest people in the world are the people who don’t know how to dream.
  • Successful people are a little bit crazy because all success is found in your courage zone & not on your comfort zone. Discernment is needed to know which is the courage zone and which is the crazy zone.
  • Problem 1: Wrong timing.
The problem isn’t the size of the dream but the timing.
God is never in a hurry. The destination is not important; it is the journey.
Don’t be in a hurry, neither be late. Just be on time.
  • Problem 2: Wrong talent.
God gives abilities that lead you to the right dream.
Your core gift will lead you.
  • Problem 3: Wrong trust.
Don’t be disappointed if God didn’t answer your prayer, which it may lead you not to trust in Him anymore.
God prepares so you will have the best. Just trust in Him because He wants you to have the best, which may be better that your original dream. If God answers every prayer, it will lead to disaster. Not everyone was smart enough. Some are crazy people. If God answers those crazy dreams, lots of people will suffer.

After the worship session, the newcomers (including us) were invited to a small circle to introduce ourselves and share our first-time-experience. Afterwards, they gave us a Novena pocket-sized-booklet where you can write 7 dreams that you have to carry all the time. The speaker, whom I forgot his name, gave us guidelines on what type of dream to write. The dreams must be Measurable, Ambitious, Godly, Imaginative (by writing specific details of your dream), and Complete in all areas of life (Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, Intellectual, Financial…)

The day ended with me, 18 years old, baby-sitting my 14-year-old-sister at Trinoma on an event dedicate to Greyson Chance who was invisible.
